We had a hard time deciding on a rug, and ended up ordering three 100% wool hand-tufted rugs, then returning two (We paid return shipping, but felt it was worth it!). This is one of the ones we returned. We ordered the "Ivory" were expecting a gray and ivory/white rug, but it was gray and beige (More like the one listed as "Gray" even though we ordered and received the "Ivory" one). Also, it was not very thick or soft, especially compared to the Safavieh Handmade Moroccan Chatham Dark Blue/ Ivory Wool Rug rug we kept. Compared to the other two, this one seemed to be made differently, too. Maybe hand-knotted? For reference, the other rug we returned was the Hand-Tufted Adil Wool Rug. We had no issues with the return, and were refunded promptly, minus the shipping cost.
The Chatham collection by Safavieh contrasts ancient Moroccan motifs with a fashion-forward palette of bright and pastel colors. These stunning hand-tufted wool rugs are crafted in India to recreate the elegant look of hand-knotted carpets for today’s lifestyle interiors.
Hand-tufted rugs use high quality wool so the finished product looks and wears much like a hand-knotted rug. Unlike a hand-knotted rug, a hand-tufted rug is created without tying knots. Making a hand-tufted area rug takes a fraction of the time to make, therefore greatly reducing the cost. As a result, hand-tufted rugs are very affordable area rugs.
